Ich kenne THE MODLE COUPLE nicht, aber WHO ARE YOU, POLLY MAGGOO? und MR FREEDOM sind amüsante, teilweise sehr laute Sixties-Satiren. Insbesondere die trashige Superheldenparodie und bitterböse Amerikakritik MR FREEDOM ist einfach totkomische Kurzweil. Highlight: Mr. Freedom besucht die amerikanische Botschaft, die schlicht ein Supermarkt ist...
Bekannte Filme von William Klein sind natürlich noch MUHAMMAD ALI, DER GRÖßTE und der neuere IN AND OUT OF FASHION. Ich hoffe, Criterion bringt noch mal 'ne Eclipse-Box mit William-Klein-Dokus raus, auf der sich dann gerne LOIN DU VIETNAM verirren kann, das Klein mit Chris Marker, Joris Ivens, Alain Resnais, Agnès Varda, Claude Lelouch und Kollege Godard realisiert hat... |
