A psychopath known only as "Buffalo Bill" is responsible for the
torture-slayings of several women. To uncover the killer, rookie FBI agent
Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) strikes up an uneasy alliance with Hannibal
Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a jailed killer who offers her tantalizing, terrifying
insights into the twisted psychology of murder. Jonathan Demme's 1991 film won
Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best
Actress.
Silence of the Lambs is Criterion's first title to be mastered using
the THX system for excellence in video and sound and is presented in an
exclusive digital transfer in the original aspect ratio approved by cinematographer Tak Fujimoto.
