Paul Robeson (Show Boat) stars in this film version of Eugene
O'Neill's play about a railroad porter who becomes the despotic leader
of a Caribbean nation. A chilling study of human weakness, the film
created a huge stir upon its initial release in 1933. This
edition includes Tribute to an Artist, Saul Turell's Oscar-winning
documentary, which examines Robeson's career, his immense talents as a
singer and actor, and his struggles against prejudice and racism.
