"Criterion transfer supervisor Maria
Groumbos [Palazzola] gives Shampoo a visual sheen lacking in the
tape." -Steve Daly, Entertainment Weekly Warren Beatty,
spoofing his libidinous reputation, plays George, a hairdresser whose
attempts to open his own salon are thwarted by his amorous misconduct.
Trying to form an alliance with a business baron, George ends up
instead in romantic partnerships with the mogul's mistress (Julie
Christie), his wife (Lee Grant, in an Oscar-winning performance), and
his daughter (Carrie Fisher). Goldie Hawn plays George's
long-suffering girlfriend.
