Yasujiro Ozus “Noriko Trilogie” wird am 19. April 2010 vom British Film Institute (BFI) auf Blu-ray veröffentlicht. Die drei Titel sind bereits bei amazon.co.uk vorbestellbar:

- “Später Frühling / Banshun / Late Spring” [J 1949, Yasujiro Ozu]
- “Weizenherbst / Bakushû / Early Summer” [J 1951, Yasujiro Ozu]
- “Die Reise nach Tokio / Tôkyô monogatari / Tokyo Story” [J 1953, Yasujiro Ozu]

Das BFI wird in den nächsten drei Jahren insgesamt 32 Filme von Yasujiro Ozu auf Blu-ray und/oder DVD veröffentlichen.

32 sind wenn ich mich nicht täusche auch so ziemlich alle erhaltenen...bin gespannt wie viele es davon auf BD schaffen, bei einigen bezweifele ich mal, ob das viel bringen würde. Andere schreien wiederum danach.

Die Filme, bei denen es sich lohnt oder entsprechende Master vorliegen, sollen auch auch Blu-ray veröffentlicht werden.

Am 23. Mai 2011 werden wieder zwei Ozu-Sets beim BFI erscheinen.


Die “Dual Format Edition” von “Ein Herbstnachmittag / Sanma no aji / An Autumn Afternoon” [J 1962, Yasujiro Ozu] wird als Bonusfilm “Kaze no naka no mendori / A Hen in the Wind” [J 1948, Yasujirô Ozu] enthalten. Da noch keine Details zum Set vorliegen, ist bisher nicht bekannt, ob der Bonusfilm auch in HD oder nur in SD auf der DVD vorliegen wird.

Zum Set mit “Spätherbst / Akibiyori / Late Autumn” [J 1960, Yasujirô Ozu] liegen die Details bereits vor. Beim Bonusfilm handelt es sich um “Haha wo kowazuya / A Mother Should Be Loved” [J 1934, Yasujirô Ozu], der allerdings nur auf der DVD enthalten sein wird.

Freu mich drauf, die letzten Sets waren Spitze! Vor allem sind die Plastikhüllen ganz normaldicke Amaray-Cases und nicht die dicken, wie so zum Beispiel oft bei den Masters-of-cinema-DVDs zu Einsatz kommen. Das spart Platz im Schrank.
